In my opinion, Calgary is a very safe city. You can tell how safe is a city according to the number of police who are on the streets. Since I came to Canada I have not seen any. That's a good indicator. In Ecuador you can see police on the streets and still perceived insecurity in the environment.

That's kind of a scary picture from Ecuador! We do have some police officers on the street here, but not very many.
